XC Hemel Hempstead is a visionary facility that is an outstanding place of adventure, excitement, challenge, resource, education and support that enthrals and empowers young people. The Centre combines extreme sports facilities (indoor skate / bmx park, indoor climbing walls, indoor caving and a high ropes course) and sits alongside the Youth Connexions One Stop Shop which will provides information, advice, guidance, support, personal development, counselling, health teen clinic and a music recording studio, performing arts, internet cafe and chillout zone.
The Entre-Prises designed and built climbing zone provides approximately 880 square metres of high quality roped climbing and bouldering consisting of four very distinct climbing areas using a combination of Lightwave, Cristalithe and Mozaik climbing systems. The climbing areas appeal to a broad spectrum of climbing wall users from complete novice through to advanced and competition levels.
The cave comprises 152 linear metres of realistic cave passageways and includes 3 chambers. A separate cavern runs through the cave and leads to the high ropes course, which is located above the climbing zone.
